ANTINOUS OF BITHYNIA

After the last dark days caused by a mean act of agression towards Ryan I looked for a personalized symbol of light... and ANTINOUS crossed my mind.

ANTINOUS OF BITHYNIA was a real person, he was loved by the Emperor Hadrian during the 2nd century of the Christian era. Their relationship is famous because it was openly homosexual, and also because of the extraordinary reaction that Hadrian had when Antinous mysteriously drowned in the Nile. Inspired by the spontaneous devotion of the Egyptians, Hadrian declared that Antinous had become a God, and then spread the new faith around the world.
